October Paper Pumpkin and Alternatives

I know I am a little late in posting this but I still wanted to share this with you. In case you are not familiar with Paper Pumpkin from Stampin' Up it is a monthly subscription box that typically contains card projects but will sometimes also contain other paper crafting and stamping projects. This October's Paper Pumpkin Kit gave all that was needed to make 10 cards - 5 each of 2 designs. I played with the contents and made 10 cards of differing designs plus a scrapbook layout. I wanted to showcase how you can change up the results from a kit.

This is the contents of the kit that I worked from. To create what I did I added some Basic White for some card bases, window sheets for the shaker cards as well as Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce for the layout.

First off is the layout I created.

I have been working with 8 1/2" x 11" for my layouts this year so I kept to this size for this. I cut apart 2 of the card bases and then cut 2" trips from them. The "seam" for joining the strips is hidden behind the strip of Night of Navy. I used some of the die cuts and sentiment banners for this as well.

Next are the cards. Cards 1 and 2 are the cards meant to be created with the kit. For the remaining cards I cut apart the bases and built each on a Basic White card base.  I created some as shaker cards and others as regular cards.

One thing I do really enjoy with the Paper Pumpkin Kits is having some materials leftover when complete. These are the pieces I have leftover after creating the layout and the cards shown. I plan on making some Christmas present tags from what remains.

I hope you liked the layout and cards! Thanks for stopping by!

2024 NYC Weekend Title Page

Meghan is my travel-buddy and we have spent a weekend in NYC each year for the past several years. This year we decided to go into the city in mid-December to be able to enjoy all of the sights and sounds of New York all decked out for the holidays. I pulled out the Seasons of Green and Gold DSP for the layouts from this weekend as it works perfect with the holiday lights and colors we saw while there.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout from Pinterest.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes to work with the new layout size. I changed the photo orientation from landscape to portrait. I die cut some leaves from the Graceful Greenery Vellum and Gold Foil Sheets using the Golden Greenery Dies. The title was die cut using an alphabet die set and label set from my stash. I added some faux-stitching to the label and some Gold Glass Dots to embellish the layout.

2024 Thanksgiving Layout

Now that I am on a little break for Christmas I am working on catching up on some blog posts and workshop editing. Here is my layout from a recent Scrapbook with me for this year's Thanksgiving. It was a pretty quiet holiday for us as with my husband feeling sick we decided to just keep it to the 4 of us. I pulled out some of my scraps of the Sweet Days of Autumn DSP to create this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout from Splitcoast Stampers. You can see this sketch and others here.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes to work with the new layout size. I dovetailed them strips instead of making tags from them. I stamped the title using the Autumn to Remember Stamp set with Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry ink. I added the lines with a brown marker. I die cut some leaves using the Autumn Leaves dies and added some Faux-Glass dots to embellish the layout.

UnPlug Layout

Mike and I got a chance to see Theory of a Deadman in concert recently. They did an "unplugged" tour with Cory Marks and Escape the Fate as opening acts. The concert was at the House of Blues in Boston. I love going to concerts there as the acoustics are great! I used some Country Woods DSP to keep the background "basic" and the focus on the photos.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout from Vanessa Waller. You can see this sketch and others here.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes to work with the new layout size. I used a border punch from my stash along with a letter die. I added some Basic Grey & Smok\y Slate Pearls along with some other elements from my stash to embellish the layout. I added some faux-stitching using a white gel pen.

Halloween Memories Layout

Had fun creating this layout during a recent Scrapbook with me. With the kids being in their 20s now there are not may opportunities for the typically Halloween activities and pictures. This year both Meghan and Nicole did some Halloween activities with their friends so I was lucky to get pictures of them dressed up. I used the Halloween Memories collection from Stampin' Up.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout from Rochelle Spears. You can see this sketch and others here.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo size and number of photos to work with the new layout size. All of the elements in this layout including the title came from the Halloween Memories collection. I used a white gel pen for the journaling.
