I had fun working on this layout during last Monday's Scrapbook with me. We had recently taken a pasta making class together as a family and had a great time learning how to make homemade pasta and sauce. What a difference in texture and taste from store bought. I debated a bit on picking the papers for this layout until I pulled out this retired Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper - Secret Garden. I love how well the colors in the papers work with the photos.
The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Scrapbook Generation.
I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the album size I am currently using. I decided to make this a 1-page layout from the 2-page sketch. I did add an additional photo to the layout. Instead of stitching along the dovetailed strips I added a little more space between them and added "faux stitching" using a white gel pen and ruler. The title was die cut using a set from my stash. I added some flowers and buttons from my stash to embellish the layout.
