Silver Bells Gift Card and Money Holder Workshop and a Process Video
At a recent Ready Set Crop retreat where I was a vendor I taught a workshop featuring the Silver Bells collection from Close To My Heart to make 2 gift card holders, 2 money holders, and 1 gift card box. I got inspiration for these from various sources on Pinterest and pulled them together into the workshop to make 1 each of these 5 projects.
I provided the workshop participants with a PDF of the directions so they can recreate these on their own. In this post and the next 4 posts I will be showing you each of the projects from the workshop. You will find a link to the downloadable PDF with the full directions for cutting, scoring, stamping, and assembling all 5 projects at the end of this post.
For this post I am focusing on Project #1 - Gift Card Holder #1. You will find a link to the process video on my YouTube Channel at the end of this post.
Once you have cut all of the pieces for the projects using the cutting diagrams in the PDF of directions, make sure to place them in piles according to each project so there is no confusion with what pieces go to what projects.
To make Gift Card holder #1 you will first need to score the Toffee 6 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece using the following diagram. Score along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" and then along the 6 1/4" side at 3 1/8". Fold along the score lines then cut away the top left panel - cut slightly below the 3 1/8" score line when doing this. Trim down the piece you cut away to 4" x 2 7/8" for the pocket.
Using a 1 1/4" punch, create a notch in the cardstock to be used for the pocket. Placing a strong adhesive tape on the sides and bottom of the pocket cardstock adhere this to the bottom left inside panel. Make sure to leave a little "give" when adhering the pocket so the gift card will be able to slide in and out.
Embellish this with a piece of Zip Strip and a stamped sentiment block. Adhere the stamped sentiment piece to the bottom right inside panel and the patterned paper piece to the top right inside panel.
Fold the bottom left panel in and adhere the patterned paper piece to the front side. Embellish this with a stamped ornament with leaves piece.
Fold the top panel down over the bottom panels. Mat the last patterned paper piece on the Mink cardstock piece and adhere to the top panel. Wrap the Charcoal cardstock strip for the "belly band" around the closed holder from the back and adhere the ends together using a strong adhesive. It is important to make sure you leave a little "give" when adhering so the band will slip off and on easily. Adhere a stamped bell image to the band covering the seam.
I added some Platinum Stickles Glitter Glue to the stamped images to add a little bling to the holder.
