Strasbourg Layout

I took a little break from working on this Rhine River Trip album over the past weeks and am now back in the swing of it with this layout done during today's Scrapbook with me event. Strasbourg was our 2nd stop along the Rhine River and it was such a beautiful city to visit!

The inspiration for this layout comes from this sketch from Stick It Down. You can see this sketch along with others here.

The album continues to use the Hope & Kindness Collection. The angled strips are 1 1/4" wide by 12" long and I cut each strip at around the 4" mark to be able to cross the page. I hid the spacing in between the top and bottom pieces under the photos. The title was die cut using the Slim Alphabet Thin Cuts set. I used a White Gel pen to make the letters stand out as well as to create a stitched border around the photo block on the right page. I cut some flower clusters from one of the patterns in the Hope & Kindness collection and added some White Dots to embellish the layout.

Home Alone Layout

Finished another layout for our 2022 Family Album at today's Scrapbook with me event. While my husband and I were on our Rhine River trip both our girls stayed home together and we got daily selfies from them hanging out together. I used papers from the Four Seasons: Summer mini-Collection from the new Core Catalog to create this layout. I love how these mini-Collections contain a textured pattern, a themed pattern along with multi-use geometric patterns. There are so many possible uses for these papers!

It was a fun working on this layout from this sketch as I converted it from a 12" x 12" layout to an 8 1/2" x 11" as well as from a 2-page layout to a 1-page. The tab and tag were die cut using the Tags & Tabs Thin Cuts set. The title was die cut using the Slimline Alphabet Thin Cuts set - I used both Lagoon and Black cardstock for the title and overlaid the Lagoon onto the Black with a slight offset to add dimension to the title and make it pop on the page. I also added some enamel dots from the Black & White Dots set to embellish the layout.

The Black Forest Layout

During yesterday's Scrapbook with me event I created this layout for our first excursion from our Rhine River Cruise. We docked in Briesach, Germany and did an excursion into the Black Forest. It was so wonderful seeing the small villages along the way and getting to see a clock making demonstration as well as a glass blowing demonstration was so much fun!

I continue to use the Hope & Kindness Collection with this layout. The title is a combination of a Cricut cut script font and a die cut using the Simple Serif Thin Cuts set. I layered some paper behind the Hope & Kindness Die Cuts and then trimmed around them to add some color to them. The journaling was done using the new Journaling Strip Stickers from the I finished off the layout with some Bitty and Clear Sparkles.

June 2022 Recap Layout

Took a break at the most recent Scrapbook with me event from working on my Rhine River Trip album to get caught up a little in my family album with this layout for my monthly recap series.

I transformed this sketch from a 12" x 12" to an 8 1/2" x 11" to fit with the family album size. The title was cut on my Cricut using the June Digital Art file. I added some acrylic and paperboard embellishments from my stash along with some Black & White dots.

2022 - 2023 Core Catalog

All I can say is WOW! The new Core Catalog from Close To My Heart is now live and there is so much goodness inside! I am taking some time with this post to share with you a few of my favorite things out of the new catalog. This catalog begins on August 1st and goes through July 31st of 2023.

The first things I want to share with you are the 2 new collections that will be available throughout the catalog cycle. Each of these main collections features a paper pack containing 12 sheets - 2 each of 6 double-sided designs - along with a coordinating cardstock pack and embellishment pack.

Celebrating You features tones of Sapphire, Lagoon, Glacier and Honey Butter as well as some great geometric patterns that are perfect or many scrapbooking and cardmaking projects. The collection also features an embellishment pack with assorted white acrylic shapes as well as glitter and paperboard die cuts.

The second new collection is the Flower Shoppe collection. The beautiful floral prints along with geometric patterns in bright colors of Sapphire, Capri, Flamingo and Raspberry are great for so many crafting opportunities. The embellishment pack that coordinates with this collection features white and pink acrylic shapes as well as navy and wood-printed paperboard die cuts.

With this catalog Close To My Heart is also adding a new Four Seasons series of mini-collections - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The paper packs in these collections feature 6 sheets, 2 each of 3 double-sided designs along with a coordinating cardstock pack.

Along with the new collections introduced in this catalog Close To My Heart is also introducing new colors into their exclusive Color Pallette. The new colors for this catalog are: Periwinkle, Mist, Seabrook, Pine and Honey Butter as well as the new color of the year - Melon. These colors are available in Exclusive Ink pads, Reinkers, Cardstock and Shimmer Brushes.

As I get a chance to play more with the products in the new catalog I will be sharing more goodies from it with you but I could not wait to give you a taste for what is new starting August 1st!

Viking Gymir Layout

Back into working on my Rhine River trip album after a fun weekend in NYC with my daughter, Meghan. I completed this layout during Monday's Scrapbook with me event even though it was hard to just pick 6 main photos to show off the beauty of the ship we sailed on.

I continued to use the Hope & Kindness collection for this layout. The title is die cut using the Slim Alphabet Thin Cuts. I cut the title twice - once with Harbour and once with Papaya to offset the letters on the layout to add some dimension. I added some die cuts and stickers from the collection along with some dots to embellish the layout. Love the simplicity of this sketch and how it could work for many layouts.
